The pick of the bunch

This morning they were discussing on Heart FM London the perfect Celebrity Baby Gift to send to Elton John and David Furnish, to welcome their new baby son. We were delighted to hear a listener phone in a recommend a Bouquet of Baby Clothes. We agree this is the perfect new baby gift for this celebrity couple. It is well known that Elton loves flowers and our award winning bouquets make a quirky twist on the traditional new baby flowers.

Congrats to Elton and David, enjoy your wee little man.

Imaginative and Practical Baby Gifts for 2011

It is always nice to receive some PR and a nice way to start the day to see all the lovely things Abby Trow said about The Flower Stork, thanks Abby!

Bouquets of flowers are lovely, but when the florist arrives with a seventh or eighth floral extravaganza, many a new mum may feel tempted to scream as she realizes she’s run out of vases, not to mention surface space. A bouquet of baby clothes, on the other hand, and new mums are likely to swoon at how pretty it is, and be truly grateful, because, let’s face it, you can never have enough socks, bibs, vests and romper suits.

Give Useful And Pretty Gifts Such As Bouquets of Newborn Clothes
Tania James Pryce, founder of online retailer The Flower Stork , the original purveyor of babyclothes gift bouquets for newborns, says parents do appreciate presents they can use, but if they have a tasteful novelty value, so much the better. “ I had the idea for my bouquets when I remembered how fed up I got with the flowers that kept arriving after I had my first child. I thought how good it would be to have something that was actually useful!”

Thinking on the lines of the nappy cakes so popular in the US, Tania decided to take that idea up a notch. “Nappies to me are a bit too boring to give as a gift..but gorgeous socks or vests were instantly appealing. With baby gifts, the actual way the gift is wrapped and presented is crucial and the bouquets fit the bill perfectly because they do look like a novelty, while being practical in terms of what is in them.”

Blue Monday

Today is apparently Blue Monday, a name given to a date stated, as part of a publicity campaign by Sky Travel, to be the most depressing day of the year.

This date is mathmatically calculated based on weather, time since Christmas, time since failing our new year’s resolutions, low motivational level and the feeling of a need to take action (I thought those were our New Years resolutions)!

Well if you know someone that is suffering Blue Monday why not send them a Chocolate Bouquet to brighten their day.

A chocolate love story

Most of us are just getting over Christmas, taking down the trimmings and putting away all the gifts and trying not to eat all the left over chocolate in one go.

In the world of retail it is onto the next gift giving occasion. Love it or hate it Valentines Day is next up on the calender. I have never been a fan of receiving flowers on Valentines Day. I love fresh flowers but because of the demand the prices go crazy and because they can’t suddently grow lots more stock those that are on the market have often been put in cold storage for some weeks so they don’t always last as well as flowers at other times of the year. Also maybe I am just an old romantic Continue reading

The Year of The Stork

According to the Chinese calender 2011 is the ‘Year of the Rabbit’. That seems to have led to ‘The Year of the Stork’ if you follow my drift. Each week brings an announcement of another ‘Celebrity Bump’. If the Royal Wedding were any earlier than April we’d be hoping for an announcement of a Royal Delivery before the year is out. But I guess as the Chinese calender runs through until Feb 2012 there is still a chance for an announcement.

Here at The Flower Stork we wish all the Ladies-in-Waiting a healthy and happy pregnancy and can’t wait to follow some serious bump dressing. We have been delighted to deliver Continue reading
